ELEMENT
Our Story
Sometimes, the best ideas are hidden in plain sight, waiting patiently for the right moment to reveal themselves.
Back in January 2023, after countless hours of brainstorming for a meaningful and distinctive company name, I found myself at a cozy café in East London, sharing a cup of coffee with a friend. I knew I wanted a name that went beyond the ordinary—something that felt symbolic, timeless, and deeply personal.
As we chatted and explored ideas, I casually mentioned, “I’ve always been drawn to the word ‘element’—there’s something pure and essential about it.” In that moment, everything clicked. The word “element” captured the strength, simplicity, and essence I had been searching for, but it also felt inherently personal.
And so, this is how I started my adventurous journey to build ELEMENT.

Our principles
At ELEMENT, we believe that landscapes are fundamental forces shaping the way we live, balancing nature and the built environment to create thriving, resilient spaces. We use this force to deconstruct and reconstruct. We design landscapes that celebrate the core elements of nature and beauty. We build landscapes that endure, utilizing nature-based solutions to transform environments and mitigate the risks of natural disasters. The adaptability and long-term vision of our projects, reflect our expertise in designing for the future.
Research
Research is a core part of ELEMENT and a fundamental ingredient for our creative development and design aspiration. MetaBiosis.Lab (βίωση, βίωμα =experience) is an ongoing worldwide project dedicated to collecting post-design information to evaluate landscape interventions implemented for mitigating the risk of natural disasters. The project commenced in Japan in 2022 and it was supported by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and The Great Sasakawa Foundation.
